On a natural happy high, we camwhored away in a mad romp, lost in Bright Lights, Little City. We were armed with no maps, just our cameras, Octopus subway tickets, and woven beanies.
The clock struck midnight, I turned twenty-three, and we found ourselves in the lowbrow art scene along Salisbury Road, in front of the HK Museum of Art. I felt this righthererightnow surge swoop inside my chest. I threw my hands up in the air, and all that was left of my sanity disintegrated. I screamed at the top of my lungs, "I LOVE HONG KONG!" For next year's HK International Film Festival (and the years to follow), I am going back to consummate my love affair with Bright Lights, Little City.
